Since 1995, the Boston Dyke March has remained committed to offering a non-commercial, intersectional, and fundamentally grassroots alternative to Boston’s Pride celebration. They strive to elevate voices marginalized in society and even within the lgbtq+ community.

This event includes 65 community tables - including Lavanda (come say hi!), ranging from LGBTQ community resources, music, theater, and sports organizations, and vendors selling their arts and crafts. You can wander the tables and also visit our Dyke March merch tent, where you can buy t-shirts and buttons.

The opening speech, announcements, and first performance by Mercedes Escobar will happen around 6:30pm. Marchers will then leave the Commons to walk a roughly 2-mile route around the city center at 7pm. As an alternative option to walking, there is an accessibility van that people can ride in to do the March, too!

Marchers will return to the Bandstand around 8pm and be preceded by a performance by Double Star and Youth Poets, Keynote Speech- About Trans Health and Rights, Call to action speech, and Community announcements (open to anyone who wants to make a relevant announcement to the community).

The evening will conclude around 9:00 PM, trained fire-eaters from the Dyke March Committee and volunteers perform the fire eating ritual to memorialize and honor all the people in our community who have experienced hate crimes, acts of violence, and suffering, a tradition started by Lesbian Avengers chapters across the US in 1992. Followed by a final performance from Chrysalis.
